While Star Wars toys have been around for years and years, the force is strongest in Star Wars LEGO sets. You can create busts of your favourite characters to proudly display your LEGO expertise, you can recreate epic battle scenes with complete location sets, or you can fly your way through the galaxy with your very own imperial shuttle. Whatever your LEGO style, there is a Star Wars set waiting for you to build.

Fun Facts about Star Wars LEGO

Star Wars LEGO has long been a favourite for both kids and adults for years – but we bet you didn’t know some of these awesome Star Wars LEGO facts:

  • Star Wars LEGO sets first entered our universe in 1999. They were introduced at a Toy Fair in New York city, and it is fair to say LEGO has not looked back.
  • LEGO’s collaboration with Star Wars was the first of its kind. LEGO had never created a licensed LEGO brand. But since the popularity of Star Wars LEGO exploded, it laid the path for other movie franchises like Harry Potter.
  • While you can certainly get creative and combine sets and collections, the biggest official Star Wars LEGO set is the Millennium Falcon. It is made using 7.500 pieces and measures 22 inches long, 22 inches wide and 8 inches tall.
  • The Jar Jar Binks minifigure that was released in 1999 was the first ever minifigure to have a unique LEGO head.
  • R2-D2 is one of the characters that appears in the most Star Wars LEGO sets.
  • You can only find the Jedi Bob minifigure in one Star Wars LEGO set – the 7163 Republic Gunship set, which was released in 2002.
  • If you want to recreate every scene that takes place on the Death Star, you’re going to need the 10188 set which has 24 minifigures and droids included.
  • In 2007, LEGO made 5 solid gold C3PO minifigures. If you find one, hold on to it, because they are said to be worth thousands of dollars.
  • The Ewok and Yoda minifigures were some of the first to have short legs. They were released in 2002.
